Managing Infrastructure with AI
A practical follow-up on using AI to centralize DHCP and secrets management—turning scattered network state and credentials into boring, observable infrastructure.
AI in Infrastructure
How studying Microsoft AB-100 and exploring Azure AI Foundry shaped an agent-assisted migration from an EdgeRouter X to a tested Debian gateway for DNS, WireGuard, filtering, monitoring, and security.
Grafana Camera Dashboard
Installing a Tapo C520WS outdoor camera with custom 230 V to 9 V power delivery, then integrating the live feed and iCloud calendar into my Grafana monitoring dashboard.
Hardware Upgrades
Refurbished iMac Pro upgrade, SSD health discovery, NAS capacity overhaul, and workflow improvements including RAM disk setup and custom sync scripts.
NIC Teaming
Implementing NIC Teaming on my iMac Pro to ensure stable, high-bandwidth connectivity and eliminate Ethernet controller dropouts during heavy video streaming.
Dual GPU Twitch Streaming Setup
Adding an Intel Arc A380 alongside my RTX 5080 for dedicated Twitch encoding resolved NVENC crashes and allowed me to deliver smooth high-FPS streams.
Network Optimization
Upgraded to a modern Intel x64 workstation for AI and video work. Reorganized network: WiFi split by band, OpenWRT set to AP mode, 19" rack now runs DNS, Pi-hole, Chrony, and SMB. Parsec enables single-monitor remote access. Setup is faster, cleaner, and ad-free network-wide.
Network Redesign
Redesigned home network with 3 subnets: main, WiFi (with RADIUS), and smart devices. Added 10G/2.5G switch, moved to fiber (10Gtek AOC), and cleaned up static IPs, routes, and .lan DNS. Dropped IPv6. Total cost under €150. Setup is now simpler, faster, and well-structured.
